Fall Conference Registration Opens, Innovative Content Drives Strong Agenda

The League's Fall Leadership Conference is scheduled for October 24 - 26, 2014, at the beautiful and historic Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH, but this year's agenda is about much more than a beautiful venue.
"Great meetings are all about content, content, content... with great networking opportunities intertwined," said League President Paul Gentile. "We have taken great care in developing this agenda to bring attendees leading edge governance presentations along with strategies for winning with all demographics. The program will also help credit unions prepare for emerging trends that are not core elements of most credit union operations today, such as microfinance," said Gentile.
The conference will feature a number of renowned speakers that the Daily CU Scan will highlight over the coming weeks. On the governance front, nationally known governance expert Stuart Levine, author of The Six Fundamentals of Success and Cut to the Chase, and the co-author of Simon & Schuster's international bestseller The Leader in You, will cover "dynamic" governance. Levine has consulted with a number of Fortune 500 companies on governance and himself led Dale Carnegie & Associates. Levine, at the age of 25, was the youngest elected member to the New York State Assembly so he understands the political challenges facing credit unions.

"Good credit union governance is not just about the roles and responsibilities of directors, or running efficient meetings, it's also how a board handles strategic opportunity. Our governance speakers have lived this with some of the most innovative organizations in the country. Credit unions need innovative governance to thrive in the future," said Gentile.
Gentile thanked conference sponsors Synergent, FIS, CO-OP Financial Services, and CUNA Mutual Group for their support in helping the League deliver such a high-level slate of speakers coupled with a great venue.
